My name is Andy Chau. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, the child of Vietnamese immigrants. I studied Fine Arts and Community Education at Otis College. As a multidisciplinary artist, I primarily work in film photography, sculpture and woodworking.

My practice is rooted in exploration—of nature, cultural identity—and guided by a search for balance: between chaos and control, structure and spontaneity, the natural and the handmade. I find inspiration in the textures of the natural world and the quiet narratives held within everyday materials.
